the day of yester saw our last two solos preformed. *wipes away a tear*

Jacqui: lol funny as! you kept your focus when we were laughing and you had good use of space and timing (when you were in the supermarket all over tired lol loved it)

Chloe: excellent transition of character! really well done on that, it was very smooth. good use of sound too wiht all the ‘pops’.

IM GETTING A C!!! on our little slef assesment thing i predicted a C and tehn cashy says the marks are betwwen B-C so yeah. a c. no way am i getting a b. most likely not a c+ either.

but well done girls!!!!!! WE DID IT! ITS OVER!

okay i thought i should write a bit more about top class in here.
well ummm… my favorite characters were: dr jekyll and mr hyde, the pirate, spirit of the norht american wild west and the gossip. i liked doctor watson and violet bauderlaire too but there wasnt many of those.
i liked those the best becaus ehtey were the funniest (and i love a good laugh) and thery were really interesting. and ive always like those characters. and if i had to do that exame i would have chosen one of those…well maybe not SOTNAWW.
they were all interesting and had good differernt ponits of veiw to the story they were telling and different was to get it across.
i think some of the best ones were the last prefomences of the ummm….whats the word…sections? well i know what i mean…
of corse genelle was brilliant also…lol

yeah so i watched a bit of robin hood men in tights like 10 mins ago ( hence the last bit of the title)

okay last lesson we saw 4 more outstanding solo’s

tara: funny as! good transition between characters. and good focus, you kept gogin even when we were all laughing.

flicky: flciky the hippie flower power. wonderful use of stage craft in teh costume and the music (sound). you kept your focus when people laughed and i loved the idea of having music incorperated into your solo.

adri: also another comedic master peice. gret transition. and your symbol was fan-blooming-tastic! and i like the was you used sound, like when you used teh recoder for the school bell! it was a bit long but hey…you dont realise how long your gogin for up on the stage!

and then there was me. well i cant really say how i went can i? umm… it was weird. i was stressing all day and then i just got up there and thought “bullocks now its my turn” then i was just like “just do it and you’ll be fine.” so i did. i dunno what i did, it was weird. i geuss in a way i was kinda numbish i had practised it so many time i just kinda did it. you know? i wasnt exactly like a robot. i was kind worried cuase i acted out some funny bits ( well parts that i thought were funny) and no one was really laughing much. i was thinking “uh oh. thats not a good sign”. and like half way though my begging not be be taken to jail speach i realised that like half the ausience couldnt see me properly because i was facing the wall. oops! ill try to rember that next time i preform. lol it was so wierd. went i sat down the first thing i thought was like “omg did i forget a scene?!” thats how weird it was. a kinda out of body experience i guess… (i didnt 4get anything btw)
completly different to my last solo. last time i was complety hyper and revved up i wanted to do it again this time it was kinda like “oh…well…alrighty then…”
but now im stressing over my mark!!! i want to know what it is!!!!!!!1

now we just have 2 more to go. good luck girls!

hey i know this post is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over due and im sooooooooo sorry!

anywayz. last lesson well… actaully the lesson before that 1/2 the class did there solos.
and beofre i get all drama technical can i just say OMFJ!!!!!! they were awesome!!!! well done girls! *wipes away a tear* im so proud!

jessp: it was the first and it was amazing! like wow! okay i really need to use drama words…
ooh i know! transformation of character was brilliant! it was so smooth and perfected. and jess you made me sad. when the daughter (soz i cant remeber her name) was all “why cant we just be noraml for once” or somethign tot that effect and when the pplz in the shop were being nasty i was like…awwww! and then you made me laugh wiht the take away bits.

maddie: lol your costume was soo nerdy! well done on that ascpet of stage craft. i like the way you started wiht albert (great choice of name btw) all succesful and then falshed back to when he was all insecure and wanting to be accepeted.

jessb: love the dancing! prefict portral of an annyoing teenybopper. you got the attiued down pat.

nadia: i think you had the best symbol. the scarf like a blind justicy tpye thing. wow! and the transformation of prop and character were fantastic.

leah: well done! i dont know why you were so worried. use of space was good. lol you walked right to the back of the room to go to the locker. lol that was funny. oh and transformation of character tot he teacher was funny as!

jessm: your transfomations of character were really good and smooth also! i liked how you started of wiht your primary cahracter all screwed up (for lack of better words) and then went back to how he got there.

heather: nice moshing. a really interesting and dark sort of character. nice forcus and transition.

was that all? its been so long. if i missed anyone sorry.

right then we went to top class on friday and sat and it was AWESOME!!!! i was blown away! and inspired! they were so good! like…wow! lol ive gone all valley girl now. seriosly it was…wow. i cant seem to form a proper sentance it was that great! lol there were soem really funny ones in there too. ummm…then lol i started thnking how i would have doen a solo on those topics. i wonder what we’ll get in yr 12?

okay solo progress. i have cut up dads shirt and up satians on it.
i have practsied lots, over and over. its a bit over 7 mins, like a couple if seconds but i added this tiny bit (SOME ONE STOP ME!!!) so i am gonna cut that. ill proabley forget that anyways. in fact when i get up cashys gonna tell me to go, ill say my first line and freeeze, forgetting everything! ARRRGH!!!!! *stresses out majorly!*
but seriosly. i think i have everything on the list. i have a coin to bring in ( a little prop) and hm… i dont think i need a broom (hopefuly people will get what im doing) ( i explain it later anyways.) ummm…. yeah. so im gonna stress out some more, pracise some more and stress some more, and get no sleep because ill be stressing and goign over the solo in my head. then get to school, stress and go through my solo every second up until its my turn and then everything after that will be a blank untill i sit down again.
GAH! im sahking just thinking about it! my hand s were sweating just watching the other 1/2 of class prefom theres!

i am sooooooo gogin to suck! after all the solos weve seen in the past week mine is gogin to be crappy in comparison. so appoliges b4hand.

ahahah! i did a shout out to a friend who wont even read this!

okay so heres wahts goining on:
because people are stressing about solos we have had the dates changed. originaly half the class would have preformed on tuesday, then the rest on thursday. but now. half teh class is preforming on thursday and the rest on tuesday of next week. we do have a drama lesson on firday but we are going on an excursion to see top class. (*gives an uncharalistly (i cant spell) squeal!*) ( im excited if you couldnt tell…)

so last lesson we used for the last in class rehursal. (did i mention my bad spelllllling?)
yes. *sigh* the oliver bits are gone. i i have one (or was it two) line that is kinda smiliar to some lyrics from ‘oliver’.
i also cut out the bit where my primary and secondary character bump inot each other in the street. i was worried people wouldnt get it. and it helps wiht my time problem.
i was timing myself in class and cutting out all that stuff really helped. im a bit over still. so i just need to make everything smoother and tighter and i should be okay.

lets do my checklist again shall we?
okay so:

expressive skills- hmmm… check ill just have to improve it a bit.
Tension and timing- umm…yeah. i think so anywayz. actually. after i just read the sheet of the dramatic elements i need to tweek that a bit too…

so i think im pretty good!
yay! so i just need to work on making a few things better and managing my time.

oh yeah i got one of dad’s old shirts that has stains on it so ill have great fun cutting it up and putting more stains on it! *rubbs hands together and laughs evily*

okay so this is for all the girls who are preforming 2moz.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!! you’ll go just fine! pretend no one is in the room if that helps you. if you stuuf up (WHICH OF CORSE YOU WONT CAUSE YOU’LL ALL DO BLOOMING BRILLIANT!!!) cover it up and keep going. you never know, we might not even notice! its only 5 minets (or how ever long your solo goes for) of you talking if you want to look at it that way.

hi.
sorry i havent posted in a while. i havent been able to get tot the computer.

so i have practised my solo a few times since the last post. and i have a problem….
you see the more i think of my solo, the more great ideas i get, the more great ideas i get the more i add to my solo, the more i add to my solo, the longer it gets.
so i have been thinking about my solo ALOT!!!! do you see my problem?! by the time i have to preform it on thursay it will be a mini movie! SOME ONE STOP ME!!!!! damn my creativeness!
lol but the funny thing was wjen i did the first draft of my solo i was worried it would be too short. like it wouldnt even go for 5 mins. but now im worried its too long and it will go for 10+ mins.
and i cant thinking of what to cut out! i like the stuff i put in. it helps tell the story (well duh! the unit is called dramatic story telling!) of how timmy survives in the community (which is what the solo is ment to be about)
lol since my solo is on the subcutlre of a street urchin i put in some “oliver twist” refferences. i think there great and there funny (i love funny) but ill proabley have to cut them out. i think it makes the character a little less belivable. honestly, how is some kid who lives on the street even suppost to read about oviler twist?!
lol ive done a bit of research into accents too. wathced some movies to get a taste of english, irish and american accents. im not quite confident wiht accents atm so i dont think illl used it heavily or as thick.

ummm….aww i dont want to cut up that good top for my costume. ill see if dad has an old shirt i can tear appart. muahaha that will be fun!

so….how life?

oh yeah i practised and i found another problem. what the heck am i suppost to do wiht the broom after i finish wiht it? meh… ill just chuck it aside some how…i only use it once. and i was thinking of cutting that scene. and the scene after it. there a bit slowish well i cant really think of a word but…eh…i suppose its just cuase ive done it so may times im getting bored and i suppose critical. i guess thast why i keep wanting to add more new fresh stuff.(i suppopse i use the word suppose alot.)the first scene is only short and to me it kinda of in a way drags, but that is like my caharcters mood. and the scenes have important thing for the story too.
illl just cut the oliver stuff.
i dont know how it got so big! all i did was add to one scene. ONE SCENE!!!! but i LOVE! what i added! its sooooo funny! well to me anyways. and i give a good insight to how timmy survives.

okay its settled. no. more. oliver! aw……. but i like my oviler bits! oh well… gotta make some sacrifises!
and if i make my transition between scenes quicker and spead up bits then it will make it a more suitable time! excellent! im happy now. good. lets just hop[e it works out on the day.

long time no….type.
so lets get into it then shall we?

so on the last lesson of term one (*tear*) we figured out when were doing the sosls. the solos are going to be preformed by half the class on tuesday (the firts lesson back) and the other half will do theirs on thursday. i am one of the pepople on thursday in fact the 3rd i think.
and thats gogin to be bad. im goging to see all the great solos beofre and think “im going to have to preform after all those great solos. im goging to have to do mine? i have to compete wiht that?! D’Arvit! (lol i cant belive i used that)…..im stuffed!”

anyways…..

so ive been gogin over scenes in my head a few times. and well there good in practise but when it comes to actually preforming….we’ll see…
and i practsied just before i sat down here. it was wierd cause my room was all cramped so there wasnt as much space as there is in the drama room (we cleaned up my room and its still tiny!) oh yeah and it reeks (see the title above) and i had to do it silently cause my mum was resting. (i dont think it would have been nice if i woke her up yelling at an imagenary person)
but other than that it was good. i rembered the scenes and lines (i thought i would have forgotten them) and i was thinking of adding another scene before the holidays but i timed the practise and i dont think i need it. though it would come in handy in telling the stoy of how lil’ Timmy survives on the streets. and its not gogin to be that long anywayz… ill think it over.

costume time!
okay well for my costume i bought a hat! i LOVE this hat! ive always wanted one and it goes perfect wiht the solo. and its cool cause ive figured out its a kind of symbol and i use it as a transforming prop! its a hat, then its a bowl. then its a basket! muhahaha! im brilliant! (sorry im in a hyper mood)
and its not just a hat! i was rummaging thorugh my clothes and i fofun this shirt. its a really nice shirt but its got these stains on it. and its like a 3/4 one too so it can look like ive grown out of it. huh huh? good i know. and i was also thinking i could put a few holes in it too. too bad cause it is a nice shirt.
im thinking of just wereing my school shoes. or i could wear socks! i have these really cool socks but they have massive holes in ‘em! perfect! or nothing on my feet at all… i suppose that could work. socks might be a bit slippery, considering i have to run in a scene….
oh and i have some 3/4 pants some where…that will do…

yeah so… i was planning to update this earlier but things keep poping up…
omg i realsied i did do stuff on it in the first week! muhahahahah im sooooo good. *readers roll eyes and consider slapping me* HEY! thats not nice!
yeah so anyways ill do another post really soon cause im gonna practise more!
